Copy name from a filetype to another

Postby mastroalex » Thu May 09, 2024 11:48 am

Hi, I often rename my camera's videos and they come accompanied with a xml file that has a different timestamp than the video, so I get slighly unmatching names. I'd either like to manually edit the name of the xml inside the program (I can't see that option) or a quick "copy name from file MOV to XML".
Is there a feature where I can see what the name is going to be and manually edit it before applying?

If C##M01.XML is always consistent, & C##M01 always corresponds to an associated C##.MP4
then you could select all *.XML, & 3:Replace, Replace: M01 With: (nothing).

So
C0003M01.XML -> C0003.XML (& is associated to C0003.MP4)
C0004M01.XML -> C0004.XML (& is associated to C0004.MP4)
C0005M01.XML -> C0005.XML (& is associated to C0005.MP4) ...

This does not change anything internally in the .XML file.
(BRU does not change anything internally in any files.)
