Highlighting Is Not Accurately Displaying the Correct Change

Postby spacev2 » Wed Oct 09, 2024 2:38 am

I have discovered an un-desirable behaviour with the "New Name" column highlighting feature.

The renaming criteria that is being used is:

Add (7)
Insert: Magic_Sound_
at pos. 1

The issue is that it seems to be highlighting parts of the original file name which is not accurately displaying the correct file name change that is about to occur.

Hi! BRU compares the old name vs the new name and highlights the differences.
Because for those 3 names the work Magic was already present at the beginning, then that is not highlighted as a change, instead it's highlighted as an addition in the middle.
This is a limitation of the new highlight function = it just compares before and after, it does not know what operations on the files you have applied.
Highlight can be quickly switched on / off with CTRL + H.
