Postby DevinHickle » Thu Jun 27, 2024 9:32 pm

Hello,
I have just installed BRU 3.4.4.0 on a windows 11 machine.
I am trying to rename files on a mapped drive and I get

Sorry kind of a newb.

Thanks

Hi, this sounds like a file access / permission issue, can you rename local files as a test?

Yes I can rename local files.
I am logged into the workstation as an Admin for our domain and the computer where the files exist.
I have connected to the folder via mapped drive and network location.
This error started after I was having a "file no longer exists error"

Are you able to rename one of those files on the share through Windows Explorer?

Though "you" are logged in to the share as Admin, is BRU running as Admin or only running as a regular user?
Does running BRU "as Admin" change anything?

I have a list of .BRU actions that I double click to use.[/img/https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/int08tw1abs1dv7dnv85o/BRU-Actions.png?rlkey=39bhzovxs8y5ymag2i87g2ald&dl=0]

Sorry I goofed the link.
I will have to revisit this on Monday, thanks for the help so far.
I will look into the security settings and see what we need to do.
The previous computer (hard drive failure - older Windows - different version of BRU) was working so I am blaming Windows 11 at this point.

I have verified that the login on the "workstation" is an Admin for the Domain & the "server"

I have also set BRU to run as Admin by default
same error

I am getting the same error on BRU but I checked the permissions and all and nothing is wrong as it can rename some of the files in the same folder but not others, the only difference is that it gives this error message ONLY for files with file path more than 260 characters which is so weird as BRU supposed to do work for these files specifically! BRU application I guess dont have this option to bypass the 260 character limit for windows like 7zip! Please let me know if this option is available and if there is a way to fix it.

Thanks,
